Speak Statement

Statement #9: Parents simply don't understand the problems teenagers go through.
I disagree with this statement because parents were once teenagers and do know what we go through. Most parents went through high school dealing with the same types of problems. Our problems and their problems might be a little different but there are all generally the same.
Everyone goes through problems every once in awhile and odds are you are bound to have problems in high school like fitting in, finding a good group of friends, and not trying to fail every class possible. Parents had to go through these already and know how to deal with it. They can relate to a lot of your problems and even if they are different they can alter their scenario into yours to get a good outcome. So in a way they do understand.
The more specific problems like somebody texting about you behind your back, or a online problem might have some issues because you think your parents could not have possibly went through, Yeah they probably didn't have friends texting behind your back but there is a good chance that a friend was talking behind their back instead of texting. Parents generally had the same problems that we have. Our problems might be a little different like on a phone or online. But our problems and their problems have a lot of similarities, and they also have some differences.
Not only do some people think parents do not understand about problems also when they want to hangout with their friends, Parents say no and they think oh this isn't fair. Sometimes parents just want to keep you safe. Or what if you had relatives coming from across the country or from across the world. I learned to trust my parents that when they say no it is for a good reason.
Parents may not understand a lot because of all the new technology coming out. But that doesn’t mean that they didn’t have to worry about online chatting and texting, like we have to today. They understand what we are going through. My parents didn’t have texting and Facebook but they are always trying to help. That’s why I disagree with this statement.

  2. No, i do not agree with this topic. But i do agree with what Brianna was saying, our parents were once teenagers and do know what were going through. She was correct with her choice.

I thought your first paragraph was definitely the most persuasive out of your 3. This is because it explains how your parents were going through the same problems as we are now. The online stuff is obviously not the same but they can relate.

One thing that you do well is explaining things. You can show so many examples and topics that the reader can understand. One good example i thought was nice was." I disagree with this statement because parents were once teenagers and do know what we go through. Most parents went through high school dealing with the same types of problems."

  3. I agree with this topic because our parents were once teenagers also. So they know what kind of stuff that we have been though. Personally they know a lot more than we know from experience. We should listen to them and not let are emotions get the best of us.

I agree with you on sometimes parents don't understand because there is new technology and on this other stuff, but somehow they always know whats best for us. Parents have super powers or something.

Your right on how everyone goes through problems once and while, there's no doubt that everyone gets problems.

  4. I disagree with statement, our pranets had to go through high school just as we did. Even though it was a loonnggg time ago our problems and there problems were probably simalar or the same. The had to find the right group to be with, get good grades, and have time for other activities.

The most persuasive example to me was your second and third paragraphs. It showed how they had the same problems as we do and how they had to go through the same four years just as we did.

Your entire response was good but the best part that stood out to me was your organization. You organized the whole response so that lead into the next sentence or praragraph.

  5. YES! BB this is awesome, it was spectacularly written and you stated your opinion persuasively. I love how you wrote everything, but I do have to disagree with you on the statement. I know that you and your mom have a close relationship and I envy that. My parents and I are so far apart it's hard for me not to think that they don't understand. (did that sentence make sense?) Anyway it's good that you have a nice relationship with your parents :)
I thought the most persuasive thing you said was, when you were talking about how your parents had the same problems as us just not so technical. You really showed the similarities when you said that they may not have had the problem of someone texting behind their back, but they still had the problem of verbal trash talking.
I really wouldn't change anything about this blog. Like I said I think it was really well written and the organization was as close to perfect as you can get. Ummmm this is sort of off topic but I really miss u being in the C block class :( LOL I hope your having fun in a class with Kaila and Bre Gracey (lol Kaila is awesome and Bre is funny) hahahahaha LOL! Overall this was really good :)

  6. 1. I don't agree with her, but i agree with the topic.
    2. Everyone goes through problems every once in awhile like your parents because they where teenagers once too.
